Mary Badarak
Mary Badarak moved to Cochiti Lake from Atlanta, GA in the summer of 2003.
She holds Bachelors and Masters degrees from the University of California, and a PhD in Music Theory from Northwestern University. She has taught Music Theory and Composition at the University of Northern Iowa, the University of California in Santa Cruz, and at Georgia State University. Mary is a nationally recognized, award winning composer and choral director. She was the founding director of the Santa Cruz Chorale in California, and of the chamber choir Impromptu in Atlanta, and is currently Artistic Director of Santa Fe Music Works under whose direction she has taken ensembles to perform in Carnegie Hall and Vienna. Since 2006 she has been the director of the Los Alamos Choral Society who have performed Memorial Day concerts in Cochiti Lake for the past several years. In the summer of 2005 Mary Badarak was appointed to be Library Director of the Library.
Mary shares her home with longtime roommate and B.F.F. Julie, and their three dogs: Gabi, Bindi and Buddy.
