Cochiti Lake is a no-wake lake so lots of sailboats, kayaks, canoes and fishing boats are seen.

According to Wikipedia, the Cochiti Dam is the 23rd largest dam in the world and one of the ten largest earthen dams in the United States. Cochiti dam was a US Army Corps of Engineers project for flood and sediment control on the Rio Grande.
