People
have been living in the Pueblo
de Cochiti area for hundreds of years, yet the Town of Cochití Lake,
built on a mesa overlooking the Rio
Grande River and the Lake, and located about halfway between Santa
Fe and Albuquerque, has a much
more modern history.
We have a local town government and a variety of committees, a public library and emergency services. There are a variety of clubs and special interest groups, including an Arts and Crafts Guild, and a Rock and Mineral Club. We also have much to do in the way of recreation. Four back roads from the Town of Cochití take you to popular sites, such as Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument, Bandelier National Monument, and ghost towns like Bland. There is fishing, boating, sailing, and windsurfing at the lake, and golfing at the world-renown Pueblo de Cochiti Golf Course. The town itself has 360 degree views of the Jemez, Ortiz, Sandia, and San Pedro Mountains, so you can spend your time hiking, camping, rock-climbing, boating, or biking, you can simply relax and enjoy the view. We're very friendly. PS: There are many links from this site to others. Make sure you turn off your pop-up blocker. |
