EMERGENCY  ORDINANCE 1996-7

AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE BAN ON FIREWORKS AND OPEN FIRES.                                                                         

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE TOWN OF COCHITI LAKE TO ESTABLISH  A BAN ON THE FOLLOWING:

            (1) FIREWORKS

            (2) OPEN FIRES

            (3) BRIQUETTE TYPE STOVES IN PUBLIC AREAS

            (4) DISPENSING OF LIT SMOKING MATERIALS

This ban will remain in effect until rescinded by the Assembly.  Due to the severity of the conditions of surrounding foliage this ordinance needs to be passed as an Emergency Ordinance for the welfare and safety of the Town Residents.  This ordinance will take effect immediately upon its adoption by the Assembly.

Duly adopted this 13th day of May 1996 by the Assembly of the Town of Cochiti Lake at a meeting thereof, at which a quorum was present, 5 voting for and 0  voting against.                                                       ___________________
