CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Da Silva called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Assembly members in attendance
were Anthony Da Silva, Ken Kiesling,
Mary Ann Closson, Jan Lackey. Frank Hart was
excused from the meeting.
APPROVAL OF AGENDA
Mary Ann Closson made a motion to approve the Agenda.
Ken Kiesling seconded the
motion. The motion
passed unanimously.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES Ken Kiesling made a motion to approve the minutes of 10-25-06 and 01-24-07. Mary Ann Closson seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.

TOWN COMMITTEE REPORTS
1. Administrator Reports
No report was given.
2. Art Guild
Mavis Holiday, who is the new president reports the Art Guild
meets the first Tuesday of
the month at 7:30 p.m. in
the library. Everyone is
welcome. The cost to join
is three dollars.
Treasurer Helen Kennedy reports on Art Fair to be held in Pena
Blanca on September 22nd
and 23rd of 2007.
White Elephant sale will be held in the Maintenance barn this
year.
Great participation from volunteers needed
for putting events forward to raise $5,000 profit.
3. Beautification
20 active volunteers work
on a daily basis to maintain the gardens.
Groups of the whole
core of volunteers work two hour stints on Saturdays for heavier
projects such as, moving
rock, cutting branches, etc.
Immediate results are seen.
4. Community Fund
Vice-Chairperson
Pat Peterson reports the Community Fund meets once a month, usually
mid-month.
Time and date posted 48hrs. prior to meeting. All meetings are
open to the
public. Primary
purpose of the Community
Fund is to receive, account for, and disperse
money received from various sources.
Processing requests for grants and loans are also
processed through the
Community Fund. 5.
Disaster Response Planning
Mayor
Da Silva reports on Disaster Response Planning on how to notify
Town in case of
fire or disaster. Water
breaks were also mentioned and how to
notify residents of water turn
offs.
6. Election
Questions were asked about vacancies on Election Board. An
interview will be held on
August 6, 2007.
7. Fire Department
Mayor
Da Silva and Ken Kiesling met with Sandoval County Representatives on
what
plans they have for the Town Fire Dept.
There were not any specific answers
at this time.
8. Friends of Cochiti Lake
Nancy
Hart reports on the Fourth of July Concert, which was very well
attended, with a
42-member band and 287 people in attendance.
The word is out that this is a great place to
be. Concertgoers
were happy for the use of the park, restrooms, and the lake.
Memorial
Day had a good turnout as well.
Labor Day concert is to be Raising Cane for end of
summer event. Friends of Cochiti Lake is a Board that has members
that are not elected and
are always looking for volunteers.
Friends meet the fourth Tuesday of each month, which
will be a follow up of July as well as prep for September. A
special Thank You was given to
the Dixon’s for their float in the parade and to the Kazoos for
their participation, and to all
who attended, helped and volunteered.
Calvin Day was also mentioned for the greater good
of the community. Rep. from Army Corps of Engineers is willing to share
equipment for
clean up day. Mark,
who is from Fish and Game, is scheduled
to do a presentation on
Wildlife at Cochiti Canyon.
The Friends of Cochiti Lake often have on the agenda Fund
Raising items. An annual report goes out and donations do come in and keeps
Friends
going. Any donations
great or small are appreciated. The
Friends of Cochiti Lake is a
501C3 which gives a non-profit umbrella that is unique to
Friends. Friends of Cochiti
Lake
often can accept donations on behalf of other people.
9. Hospitality
Marge Knightly introduces Freda Donica as a new member to the
Hospitality 10. Joint
Commission
Mayor Da Silva explains the possibility of a new or renovated
building to hold meetings for
our community as well as other communities.
Fire Department and Ambulance, service not
only Cochiti Lake but other communities as well. Residents asked
about the return of funds
from payments to recreation center.
Those who are not up to date on their rec. fees are still
required to pay. 11. Library

given III. TOWN HALL REPORTSMayor Da Silva reports on the High Speed Internet access. A committee has been formed to look into the possibility of access. Property value may go up with the Internet Access. Tax rate may be reduced for most of residents. Jan Lackey speaks about the Phone A Friend Volunteer Program. Jan is speaking to the Sandoval County Senior Center to come talk to the Town about all the opportunities and services available to Senior Citizens. Marge Knightly asked about the Meals On Wheels, program and if they could come to the Town. Safe Ride and shopping for seniors were also asked. This program for seniors will start in the very near future. Mary Ann Closson spoke to TLC about the very old pipes on Koorani and mentioned the dirt is very unstable and anything heavy turning around there may cause the ground to give.
Ken Kiesling asked about the status of the Recycling Program.
Mayor Da Silva stated that
the program is to start in early September.
Recyclables are collected in special bins in back
of Town Hall on the south east side of the building.
There is no charge for recycling. IV.
