Each fall, as the
weather cools and the apples ripen, Albuquerque and Santa Fe shoppers
& art fanciers head for the foothills Annual Cochiti Lake Art Fair.
The Art Fair, sponsored by the Cochiti Lake Art Guild, features original
art and hand crafted items by local artists. You will find water colors,
oil paintings, folk art, Native American art, fabric art, jewelry, pottery
and much much more. In
addition, you can stuff yourself with home-baked goodies from the ladies
of Cochiti Lake and frybread and Indian tacos made by the ladies of the
Cochiti Pueblo. Three silent auctions offer an opportunity to bid on
donated original art, collectables and merchant donations. The Cochiti Lake Art Fair is held at the Peņa Blanca Community Center on Highway 22. Take Interstate 25 north from Albuquerque or south from Santa Fe to Exit 259 and proceed west for about 8 miles. For further information call Claralyn at 505-465-2193. |
